The United States Flag of Honor will have come from the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University in College Station, where it's currently on public display. Lakeway, Texas, will be the first host of the day before the flag moves by motorcade to Houston, Texas. The City of Lakeway was selected by The Honor Network to host the United States Flag of Honor on the Fourth of July.
"This is a small community that united together to raise money to better the lives of U.S. war heroes," says Chris Heisler, president and CEO of The Honor Network. "A small local group in Lakeway spearheaded an effort to purchase iBOT Mobility Systems for wounded warriors."
The Patriot Fund in Lakeway teamed up with the 091 Foundation to obtain the iBOT Mobility Systems and change the lives of deserving servicemembers.
The flag will arrive July 3 at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport aboard an American Airlines jet. The aircraft will be met will full honors, as various Central Texas first responders greet the flight. The flag then will be presented ceremoniously to the Lakeway Police Department inside the airport terminal. A motorcade will escort the flag to a secure location. The Lakeway Police Department will host the United States Flag of Honor during Lakeway's annual Fourth of July festivities.
The United States Flag of Honor travels around the country to memorialize men and women in the armed forces, law enforcement and firefighting who have died in the line of duty. In saluting thousands of fallen heroes, the flag has been to a dozen states and the District of Columbia, as well as to U.S. combat zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar.
The United States Flag of Honor was flying over the Texas Capitol during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Shortly afterward, Texas Gov. Rick Perry sent that American flag and a Texas state flag to New York City. What later became known as the United States Flag of Honor was presented to then-New York Gov. George Pataki at New York Police Department headquarters in recognition of police officers and firefighters who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The flag then was flown over Ground Zero at the World Trade Center site.

Note: The correct name of the flag is the United States Flag of Honor.

Luxury Lakeside Condos at Lakeway Resort
Lakeway Resort and Spa’s newest partner is the nearby Marina Village at Lakeway Condominium complex. The Marina Village at Lakeway has recently completed construction on four of their seven condominium buildings going up on the
shores of south Lake Travis. With tenants already moving in, the Resort is offering both potential and current owners the opportunity to look at this lakeside luxury purchase as an investment.
The best of both worlds is available with the opt-in rental program that Lakeway Resort and Spa has developed for condominium buyers. The program is ideal for investors planning on utilizing the real estate for their vacation spot. When owners are not taking advantage of lakeside living, they can allow the space to be rented on their behalf as part of the Resort’s overall guestroom inventory. As an added benefit the Resort takes care of all sales, marketing, and promotion necessary to inform the public of the additional overnight options. In return, the owner is able to earn a portion of the revenue gained from the rental and enjoy the amenities offered by the Resort when they choose to stay near the lake.
Convenient access to the calming environment of San Saba Spa, the eclectic cuisine of
the Travis Restaurant, and the early morning espresso or cocktails at sunset on The Back Porch, are just some of the perks of living in the nearby condominiums. However, for owners and guests of the rental program the list does not end there.
Condo guests receive the full resort experience, complete with housekeeping services, room service, fitness center, and access to three outdoor pools, featuring adult swim-up bar and kids fun slide. Lakeway Resort and Spa even offers welcome packages to prepare the condominium kitchen for guest arrival and catering options for small event parties.
“It is a great opportunity,” says General Manager, Brett Huske. “Residents can take advantage of the entire resort experience while still maintaining their own space and sense of privacy.” In addition to the Resort’s many on-site amenities, residents have local access to the Clubs of Lakeway for golf recreation, the Lakeway Marina for water recreation rentals, and the boat launch.
